This work is an original painting done in dye on silk. The outline of the figures was drawn from a live model, then the rest of the painting work was completely in my studio. For me, there is something incredibly freeing and exciting about painting on silk. The way the dye moves and flows presents a creative experience unlike other mediums. The fabric I used is crepe de chine, a heavy and opulent quality silk, and all the dyes are permanent and will remain brilliant. This piece of silk measures 46x50, unframed, and can be traditionally framed, hung loosely to allow movement, or worn as a beautiful wearable wrap. The edges of this piece are not sewn, two are on the selvage and the other two are open. If you want to use it as décor in your home and would like help on display options, please let me know and I can make suggestions and/or do the framing for you and build this into the cost of the piece. I call this work Life in Movement, because I think this is what we all hope for - forward movement and our creative energy expressed.

I create each of my pieces myself, by hand, one at a time. Everything on my Etsy site is already made and ready to ship; you are getting the exact artwork pictured. My shipping time is listed for all items as 1-3 days until it leaves my studio, plus shipping time, just in case I am out of town doing an art fair and can't attend to an order immediately; in most cases, I will be able to send out your purchase the day you order it. Please contact me with any questions regarding time needed for your order; I will do my best to insure your order arrives when you need it. You will find the option to select expedited shipping available at check out. Custom orders require longer time frames; contact me to discuss when you need it by and how long it will take for me to create it.
All orders will be shipped via USPS. To keep costs as low as possible, I do not add additional insurance, delivery confirmation, etc. If you would like additional services that you don't find available at check out, and they are available for your country, please let me know and I will add the additional costs to your invoice. Also, each country has varying rules and fees regarding customs fees; these are the responsibility of the order recipient.
Please contact me if I can answer questions about a selection or otherwise help you make the best choice possible for youself or a gift recipient. If your order arrives and it is not as you expected or you wish to return it for any other reason, I am happy to refund your payment or exchange the item, provided it is returned unworn or otherwise damaged, and is sent back within 2 weeks of receipt. Custom orders are non-returnable, but I will work with you to be sure you receive a piece that you are truly proud to wear.
Where possible, I do accept custom orders. Good ideas include an alternate color selection for a scarf style already featured, alternate dimensions or fabric type, variation of style (my most popular hand-painted florals are irises and sunflowers, but other flowers are good options, as are dogs and other animals, as I often do scarves featuring pets and wildlife). I am happy to discuss any and all ideas you might have. I will send you photos for approval before shipping any custom order.
I do accept wholesale clients with brick and mortar locations.
If you would like your purchase sent directly to a gift recipient, I am happy to do that, and will wrap and package your gift appropriately.
