Summer Solstice
This work is an original painting done in dye on silk, with the addition of some silk screened elements. It is stretched on a frame (so that the painting continues around the edges) and ready to hang, measuring 25in wide x 31 inches long x2 inches depth. It is framed in a white floater frame and looks fabulous. For me, there is something incredibly freeing and exciting about painting on silk. The way the dye moves and flows presents a creative experience unlike other mediums. The fabric I used is crepe de chine, a heavy and opulent quality silk, and all the dyes are permanent and will remain brilliant. This piece is part of series of two (along with Fall Equinox); all are listed in my Etsy shop.
