Red silk scarf, animal stripe pattern, bright red over black, hand-dyed

This lightweight velvet burnout scarf measures 14x72". The velvet is patterned with an animal stripe pattern, created by removing part of the velvet (thus, burn out, also called devore) to reveal sheer silk underneath. I hand-dyed it with a rich ruby red and used hunter green for the contrasting background.

Hand wash with mild detergent and hang to dry, or dry clean. Use silk heat setting to iron; iron on the reverse side.
